Jennifer Mordi is a highly skilled geologist based in the United Kingdom, specializing in engineering geology with a focus on ground investigations, soil analysis, and geotechnical designs. Jennifer holds a Master's degree in Engineering Geology with Distinction from the University of Portsmouth, UK, along with a Postgraduate Certificate in Oil & Gas Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Geology from the University of Calabar, Nigeria.
Currently serving as an Engineering Geologist at Soil Engineering Geoservices Ltd in the UK, Jennifer has extensive experience conducting comprehensive ground investigations, including desk studies, walk-over surveys, and technical report writing. Notable achievements include compiling the ground investigation report for Bourton-On-The-Water Sewage Treatment Works and completing the installation report for groundwater monitoring in the EKFB/HS2 Project.
Jennifer is also engaged in cutting-edge research as a Research Assistant at the University of Portsmouth. She is actively involved in developing machine learning models to predict soil unsaturated shear strength and soil water retention curves. Her research, sponsored by the university, aims for peer-reviewed publication by Autumn 2024.
In her previous role as an Engineering Geologist at Jeucon Geoservices Ltd in Nigeria, Jennifer demonstrated leadership in managing ground investigation projects from planning to execution. Notable projects include the ground investigation of the 'Owanta 1000 Residential Homes Project' and slope stability analyses of the Abavo Road Bypass. Jennifer's ability to provide innovative geotechnical solutions for challenging soil conditions contributed to cost-effective and sustainable project outcomes.
Throughout her career, Jennifer has collaborated with cross-functional teams, maintained strong client relationships, and ensured compliance with industry standards. She is a Fellow of The Geological Society of London (GSL), a Member of the Nigerian Mining and Geoscience Society (NMGS), the Council of Nigerian Mining Engineers, and Geoscientists (COMEG), as well as the Soil Science Society of Nigeria (SSSN).
