Creating and managing soils and other substrates to support habitat creation and restoration is essential to drive nature recovery and the delivery of nature-based solutions tackling climate change. New legislative and policy mechanisms, such as environmental land management schemes, biodiversity net gain, positive effects for biodiversity and nature recovery networks are predicated on being able to effectively create places where nature can flourish. Getting soils and substrates right is therefore essential if those mechanisms are to succeed.
This conference will explore the evidence for effective soil and substrate creation and management techniques for a range of habitats and environmental outcomes, including soil management on construction sites. This conference aims to help delegates less familiar with working with soils and substrates get to grips with this important area of professional practice.
