This workshop, organised by the International Association for Landscape Ecology and supported by Scenario DTP, aims to provide an introduction for those from non-meteorological/hydrology backgrounds to obtaining, downloading and processing large met/hydrology files.
The morning presentations will explain everything you need to know, including the basics of common file formats used for climate data, available products from organisations such as the Met Office and ECMWF, and how to use these products in R. The support team from JASMIN (supercomputing facility for NERC-funded researchers) will be present to explain how to use the platform to process large datasets and run models in R. The afternoon help-desk style workshop will provide a chance for you to ask our experienced demonstrators for advice on any climate and hydrological data problems you are stuck on.
The workshop is open to all researchers, including PhD students just starting out to established researchers who want to know how to improve the efficiency of how they work with large met/hydrology datasets.
More details can be found here. The deadline for registration is 20th November 2023.
